To insert Google Analytics Tracking Code into a Blogger Template is fairly easy to do.
You will need to be logged into your Google Analytics account and into your Blogger account to follow through these 10 easy steps:
- In Google Analytics click on “Add Website Profile” under your current web-site.
- Select “Add a Profile for a new domain” and then enter the URL (domain name) in text box next to where “http://” is listed (write it like “myblog.blogspot.com”) and hit “Continue”
- Highlight the tracking code and copy it to your clipboard
- In Blogger click on the “Layout” link next to the blog that you want to add Google Analytics to
- In the top navigation under the tabs click on “Edit HTML”
- In the Edit Template text box scroll down to the bottom of the text
- I insert my Google Analytics code into my Blogger Template just after the footer, so look for this code (without the space before > and after <):

Put the cursor in the line above the last two < /div > items and paste the code there
- Click on the “Save Template Button”
- In Google Analytics click on the “Finish” Button on the bottom of the page
- Click on “Check Status” next to the domain that you just added Google Analytics to verify the code

Thanks a lot ! I finally understood why it didn’t work - I don’t have 1 of the basic templates and on google analytics’s webpage where the code is provided, it is said to paste the code before , which does work on basic templates but not other ones. So just tried to put it where you said too and it’s perfectly working now
